Setting up the printer took only about five minutes, including software installation. The toner cartridge loaded easily; there's virtually no way you could install it incorrectly. The operator panel displays a simple summary of what the printer is doing at all times, from simply being ready, to being out of paper. The paper tray can hold up to 350 sheets and the printer accepts up to three additional paper trays, upgrading to 500- and 2,000- sheet input drawers, an 85-envelope feeder, or a duplex unit.

The Optra T610 can print about 12 pages per minute with very few delays. If you experience a paper jam, as we did in testing, the front-opening design makes extracting the offending sheet a cinch. We experienced consistently good print quality, with nice saturation of blacks, and clean and even distribution of full-page photos.
