Customer Reviews of Leo the Lion
Great Goodtimes movie! Leo the Lion (1994) is one of the most original animated movies to come out of the Goodtimes animation studio. Although often compared to Disney's The Lion King (also 1994), Leo the Lion - King of the Jungle is actually quite different from the famous Disney film. While Disney's The Lion King was more about an animal monarchy facing hard times, Goodtimes' Leo the Lion is more about fatherhood and responsability, but one of the biggest differences is that Goodtimes' film features men as villains, so it is more possible for this film to be compared with Disney's Bambi. <

>In Leo the Lion - King of the Jungle, Leo is a selfish and uncaring lion who hides under his crown to be rude and treat the other animals in whatever mean way he can, just to get his way. However, it all changes when he meets Tooey, the young lion cub who's just lost his mother to the greedy circus men. Tooey is lonely and desperate, so he runs to Leo for help who at first turns him down and tries to send him away, but soon afterwards takes him along. Tooey trusts Leo to help him find his mother, but Leo believes that that isn't his responsability and that a king has more important things to do, it is then Leo realizes his true possition in the jungle and learns his true responsability. <

>Goodtimes' animated features are known for relatively cheap and lifeless animation, but that usually doesn't take the charm away from the film, and although the animation in this movie is quite poor, the picture is sharp and the colors are vivid, quite unlike other cheap releases of Disney animated features with washed out colors and unaudible sound. This film is great for little kids, but animation-loving adults shouldn't expect to find a treat for themselves here. Remember, Disney may be for all ages, but Goodtimes is for the kids! Other great Goodtimes tales include Thumbelina (1992), The Little Mermaid (1992) and Cinderella (1994).
What??
This has to be one of the least inventive movies ever made. I mean, who could even think that it was possible for a man-eating computer to.... oh wait, wrong movie.
I give it 5 stars.
