Customer Reviews of Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
Excellent game idea ... if it didn't crash constantly I'm updating this review because I finally got a set of video drivers installed that would keeps the crashes to a minimum - only 1 out of every 6-8 times we play it. Even so, it is still really buggy on the technical side. At the same time, the actual game itself and the humor and "cuteness" of the game is just as good as the programming is buggy. Frustrating combination, but if you are lucky enough to get it installed and be able to play it, you will probably enjoy it. <

>Some reviewers had trouble installing this game. For me, it installed without any trouble on my 1-year old Alienware laptop (built for performance and gaming). <

>Having been a long-time fan of Star Wars and Legos, I was really looking forward to it, and I really enjoyed the parts that I was able to play. It brings both worlds together very well, with a really cute sense of humor. <

>Unfortunately, it has two major design flaws that make it virtually unplayable. The first is that as you go through the scenarios, it tends to crash roughly 8 out of 10 times. I mean hard crash. Locks up the computer completely. I tried turning off all the graphic frills even though my system should handle them with ease. No help. And the crashes always happened toward the end of the scenario, so I would spend 45 minutes to an hour playing just to have it crash on me. <

>Which leads to the second flaw. You can only save at the end of a scenario. So, if you get most of the way through and it crashes, you have to do it all over again, and hope it doesn't crash the next time around (which it usually did, though at different places). <

>I'm going to try and return it. It would make sense if it were a beta release, but for something that has been out for a while and been patched twice? That's just irresponsible.
No disappointments!
Both sons liked it so much, we bought a second so they could link up.
Star Wars Game
We got this game for our 7 year old son who has wanted it for some time. He loves the game and it has great graphics, but it is very addictive. More addictive than most video games. All our son wants to do is play it every chance he gets; always trying to get to the "next" level. Good game, but you need to closely monitor your child's playing time, more so than other games.
