The game world's ever-changing environment looks like a fairy tale come to life. Majestic waterfalls, towering castles, and magical forests are a feast for the eyes and ears. Rivers flow, rain falls, the sun and moon rise and set. There's even an erupting volcano! Exploring this world is half the fun of the game. Along the way, you learn musical tunes that you can play on the flute-like Ocarina, a magical device that helps you teleport, alter the weather, even control time itself.
Character interaction is important to gather clues. The fairy princesses, singing frogs, and dragons you'll meet can be cute, humorous, or somewhat terrifying. Sprinkled liberally throughout the game are hundreds of secret treasures and enjoyable minigames (one of which, the fishing game, would almost be worth buying by itself). Game controls are easy to learn. There's even an elaborate fight training course built right into the game. Controlling the hero quickly becomes instinctive, and you can concentrate on saving the world. To win the game, you'll have to use not only Link's sword, but your mind as well. This game's challenging and inventive puzzles really make you think. In fact, to keep from getting stuck, it's worth spending a few bucks on an official player's guide. With The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Nintendo has come up with an all-consuming adventure title that will provide days of engrossing gameplay. --Eric Fredrickson

Customer Reviews of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Virtual Console Benefits! I own the original of this, and beat it. I also bought the Virtual Console version of it on the Wii, and I must say, STILL AMAZING. Though the graphics are getting out-dated, the gameplay keeps you wanting and craving the end result.
THE BEST GAME EVER MADE IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!
The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time came out in 1998 and blew everyone away. While the RPG crowd was content with their emo FFVII, the action adventure gamers needed something more and they were rewarded for their patience. When Ocarina Of Time first came out I waited in line. I was in the fourth grade and did not go to school for a week. After I beat the game several times I put it down for about a month but I could not resist the call. I would have to say that it has been a ritual for me to beat this game at least once a month every year since 1998.

>When I first started to play this game I was very skeptical. "There is no way that this game can stand up to A Link To The Past." my assumptions were dead wrong. As soon as I was five minutes into the game I saw the genius that was The Ocarina Of Time.

>Ocarina of Time has a plot that rivals even the best movies. The gamplay completley revolutionized how we play games today. The Music has got to be some of the best music ever composed. THe replayability factor is amazing. ther are so many things you can do in order to challenge yourself.

>This game is a must have for any person who has ever touched a game console. It is without a doubt in my mind the greatest game ever made and the only game that could ever have a chance to beat it is another zelda game.

>One more thing. This game set records by recieving the First ever 40/40 from Famitsu, one of the most prestigious japanese gaming magazines. Another reason why it is the greatest game ever made.
AWE-SUMMONING GAME!
This game is my favorite game in my collection. I used to have it for N64, but now I have the Ocarina of Time-Master Quest version for GCN! The game starts in a forest, when a young boy named Link (or whatever your name is, because you get to name him) is called by the Deku Tree. Then he has to go inside and try to free the Deku Tree of a great curse. Thus begins his adventure. In this game, you will go all around Hyrule (the land of Zelda, if you haven't played a Zelda game before) and enter "dungeons" which are sort of like long levels that you can save in the middle of. But dungeons aren't the only part of this game. You will have to explore the world (and there aren't separate worlds like in Mario, the whole game is in one huge world, even the dungeons) and do other things. This game has great replay value, too. Even after you beat the game, there's loads of side quests to do (like collecting all the pieces of heart, finding all the golden skulltulas, saving Epona [your horse] and much, much more!) Even if you complete all the side quests (which could take over a year), the game is so long you'll forget how to do everything, so you can play it again and again! Another great thing about this game is the storyline. This game wouldn't be half as good if the storyline were like most other games. In a lot of other games, they give you the story, you go through the whole game, and then you see the ending. That's it. In this game, however, it's like a book; the story slowly unfolds as you play through it. There are sad moments, happy moments, even moments that make you mad. The places in this game are so diverse, too. The game will take you up a volcano, into a living tree, under a graveyard, down a well, into a castle, under a lake, across a desert, and even into the belly of a whale! Overall, this is the best game ever! Good job, Nintendo!
