great book especially if you are a visual learner.
I read this book along with Go: A complete introduction to understand the game better. Both have two approaches to teach you the game. This book is more for people who like to learn visually. For me learning visually helps but I do not depend on it. Never the less, I will understand any book that teaches you the game visually better. <
>Because the book has few words and more pictures, I would believe that the book would be excellent if you are trying to teach go to a child. My 7 year old sister certainly enjoyed following though with this book rather than with Go: A complete introduction.

Starting Go with this book
I just started playing go a few weeks ago and this book has given me a good insight into the game. It teaches the basics very well and has sample problems at the end of each chapters so you can make sure that you did learn the concepts. Very good book for the basics.

This is the best introduction to the game of Go that I've read. It is clear and concise. It is also very readable with excellent examples. I recommend this book for anyone interested in learning the game of Go.
