A way to quickly increase your efficiency
Sometimes it appears that the march of technology is an inexorable movement that complicates our lives with more than we can handle. Contrary to the projections made in the sixties and seventies, the average work week has risen in the last decade. Unfortunately, that does not completely translate into more work done. Some recent surveys indicate that workers now spend a great deal of time every day reading and responding to e-mail and other messages. The ability to send messages so easily has led to an enormous rise in their numbers, with an arguable drop in the average quality. Furthermore, the ease of sending messages and the globalization of business now means that we must communicate with more people.
There are two solutions to this problem. 1) Ignore a great deal of those messages. 2) Organize the messages and plan your time so that you spend less time planning your time. The first is impossible unless you drop out to a desert island, so you have no choice but to do the second. This can only be done by using software and Outlook is a program that does this very well. However, as a busy person, you don't have a great deal of time to learn how to save time, which is where videotapes like this are a godsend.
All of the main features of Outlook such as the e-mail manager, calendar and daily planner, the contacts tool and the notes feature are demonstrated in a simple step-by-step manner. While some experience with the tools of Microsoft Office are assumed, primarily the features of the main toolbar, that background is fairly minimal as the level of presentation can get you over most of it. In less than an hour and a half, you can learn many of the main time saving features of Outlook and get to the point where you are making progress in the battle against the tide of time underload and message overload. It seems reasonable to assume that viewing the tape is a time investment that will be returned in only a few days.
I must admit to a personal prejudice in favor of videotape learning. It allows me to learn while performing tasks such as working out, folding laundry, clipping my nails and all of those other daily tasks that must be done but seem wasteful. Given the quality of this tape and the means and convenience of delivery of the information, it is a bargain if this is the training you need.
