I was delighted when I had a son. I bought every type of toy that existed, By age 3 he was already on a computer and it was greek to me. I had to take lessons just to keep up with him and his schooling. I found the LEAPSTER learning toys. They R the best that there are. I saw my 4 yr. old son reading Huck Finn, books that a child in my era would not be reading until about 3th, 5th, or even some boys 6th grade. People will tell you that boys are slower than girls. That is NOT TRUE at all. OK. I checked all over. As a matter of fact, there are 72% more scholarships given to boys than girls. Girls get easiy distracted, and the boys that love school, well as much as they can, will go out on a limb to get the grades they must have to feel good about themselves. My son is now in college. Full ride to Duke University. I have a great nephew. He is going to be 2. I am getting him the Leapster right now! I know it says 4. But I will tell you, my son was on it at 2 1/2. He loved it. There were different ones, and many different types of educational learning fun toys, and the best thing you can do for your child, aside from reading to them as much as you possibly can, get them these Leapsters. There are many different types, different age groups. But I will tell you this. I was a working Mom, when my son reached the age of 7. I had a restaurant and I needed to be there. I did sell it soon after. If I had to have the income in order to live, I would have kept it. I was lucky. I did not need it. So I stayed home with my son. But if I did have to stay with the job, I know nothing would be different. He was always the little man. I did have a great staff. But in that business U must be there. But I had already given him, my son, so much love, which is NUMBER 1, I said it fifty times a day. But as the Mom of a 19 yr. old, who was given a full ride to DUKE U. as a 4 yr student, with a back up for a full ride to Medical and Law school, I swear I believe that they are molded at the tender years, from Birth to 10. But if U R a working MOM, never feel bad. Read every night to them, and make sure they have the leapster toys. Also keep them busy so they never get in trouble. If they are busy, and they like to read, they will surprise you very much. They are creative. So just be careful that they have the correct things to do, and are always busy, and U wil have perfect little children. Well read, smart and these toys are fun, and that will hold their interest. <
>This I can promise you.. Try it, I swear U will love it. Of course every Mom wants to be home with their children, but for you MOMS that might have to wotk, all U need is Love and Leapster. Great buy!
We bought the leapster last Christmas for our 4 year old twins. THe best toy we have ever bought. Within a matter of weeks they learned their letter sounds and after 6 months were reading (before 5). Our 8 year old loves it as well and we will be getting another one just so they don't have to share.

This is our second one!
I already have one Leapster, which we have had for 2 years with no problems, and now my younger son loves it so much we have just purchased this set for him. Leapfrog has really come up with a winner when they made this product. The games are educational, and each cartridge has hours of fun packed in them. You will not be disappointed with this item. Also the case is wonderful, for those clumsy hands that may drop this item, which ours has been dropped even outside of the case and it still works wonderfully. <
