The breakfast pot In our house this is known as the breakfast pot - the heavy saucepan is just the right thing for oatmeal (and soaks clean beautifully), and the top can be used as a cover for creamier grains, or can be used alongside the saucepan to scramble and cook a couple of eggs.
The cover is deeper than an ordinary skillet, which makes it good for melting butter or reducing small amounts of sauce. The saucepan and cover nest to hang (turn the cover over), which is a win.
Unfortunately, this set doesn't have some of the other advantages of the leCreuset line. The handles aren't particularly comfortable (unlike the other saucepans), and I think the iron is thinner - this is the only leCreuset pot I've ever managed to burn something in.
This is still a good starter pot, especially for a single person whose cooking leans to oatmeal, canned soup, or other simple dishes. For real cooks who can afford it, however, I would suggest getting the regular leCreuset iron handled saucepans and saute pans instead.
