Customer Reviews of Krups 619-70 Fresh Aroma Combination Coffee Grinder and Brewer, White with Platinum
NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY WANT TO DRINK COFFEE This coffee maker is for people who only want to display it on their counters - not to actually make coffee. Sure it looks cool and sleek, but it sure is a lot of work to get coffee from it. <
>They say this products is focused on making coffee without a hassle. Well with all the drying and cleaning you have to do, it much easier and quicker to use a separate grinder. <
>It's very loud and it takes a very long time to get a cup of coffee. Other reviewers have comment that it makes a great cup of coffee and maybe that's so...but there are many other coffee makers out there that make great coffee without spending 10-15 minutes cleaning and drying it and then another 20 minutes to actually get a cup of coffee. Don't waste your time or money on this inferior Krups product. <

Krups Krap
This coffee pot is a nightmare. The coffee it brews, when it brews it, is outstanding. Having said that, the effort and problems associated with getting a cup of coffee out of this contraption are too laborious and troublesome to make it worthwhile. To begin with, the entire house need be awake and alerted (especially cats) because the noise it makes is akin to an air raid. If the beans get even slightly damp in the hopper (which happens easily and frequently), they won't grind and you have to pick them out and dry the interior, which is inconvenient and messy. Moreover, I only had my pot for 1 year and the pot broke out a ring in the bottom for no apparent reason. After I replaced the pot for $20 bucks, various plastic parts began to simply crack off. Last week the grinder wouldn't stop grinding, so no coffee would brew no matter how it was coaxed. This week the grinder doesn't work at all, and we've resorted to grinding the beans with another grinder and dumping them in the basket. Now I have a nice new pot that fits nothing that works. It's a fabulous idea in a design that simply is not efficient.
Good cup of coffee, but horrible everything else
I had high hopes for this coffee pot, which probably led to my extreme disappointment. The only positive thing I'll say is it did make a wonderful cup of coffee. The negatives: it took way too long to make a cup of coffee (up to 30 minutes), put out an enormous amount of steam (leading to variable size pots of coffee day to day), and the product itself is comprised of cheap flimsy parts. The grinder plate broke on me within 3 months.
All these plus the fact it was very messy. It threw coffee grounds into the water tank and I was constantly wiping up water and grounds off the counter.
Krups was nice though and since this model is discontinued, they offered a new coffee maker (With separate grinder). They admited that this grind/brew model couldn't withstand day to day use.
I bought a Cuisnart grind/brew now, and it's far superior, with loads more features, higher quality.
