Customer Reviews of Kolcraft Tour Sport Universal Umbrella Stroller
Disappointed I bought this stroller in January and was, at first relatively happy with my purchase except the sun shade is a little small, and sometimes I would kick the wheels while walking. <
> <
>However, now that my son is eleven months old, I have run into a serious problem. The foot rest on the bottom of the stroller is less that two inches wide. When we go for a walk, he gets excited and presses down on the foot rest. His foot slips off, goes underneath, and hits the turning wheel. Luckily, he has not gotten seriously hurt. However, after happening several times during a recent walk, I have discontinued use of this product. <

>When I contacted the Kolcraft customer service department to report my experience and seek remedy, I was advised to "encourage" my son "not to do that" or "he will get hurt." Because no one else has complained, all they could do was document my complaint. This is a design issue! <

>This stroller is supposed to last to age three. Needless to say, this stroller is going in the trash after only 6 months of use.
Great stroller
This stroller met my needs perfectly. This was the only "umbrella" (lightweight and folds up to a small size) travel system stroller I found. Meaning, it holds an infant carseat (like the universal frames) and has a seat (like a traditional stroller).
<
>It doesn't have a gigantic basket, but it can hold blankets and toys and a few odds and ends. A taller person will kick the wheels every now and then because the handles are fairly short.
<
>Despite only two drawbacks I can see, you can't beat the weight (VERY light), size (EXTREMELY small when folded), and utility (inexpensive and will last from birth to about 3 years)!

Good deal for the price
I bought this stroller because I needed something that would be compact for storage, but still offer some of the benefits of a traditional stroller--a comfortable reclining seat and storage basket. So far I have been very happy. The ride is smooth and easy to steer. My only complaint is that the sun shade is a bit small. I haven't had a problem with hitting my feet because I am only 5 feet. In fact, the handles are almost too high for me. It does require two hands and a foot to open, but the conventional strollers are too heavy to pick up with one hand even if you can technically open them with one hand. Other balloon strollers may be easier. I, however, wanted only one stroller instead of two, and this was a good compromise between a conventional and balloon stroller. I wish I would have found this sooner because I went six months without anything, and I could have used this with the infant carrier/carseat.
