A luxury worth having!!
Of course you can do without this after bath bag. But it is so great having one!! It is very soft (another reviwer complained it was rough, but you must wash it before it really feels soft) and very roomy - it is no problem getting the baby in it.
One reason why I love this bag is that babies usually feel hungry after a bath. It is so much easier to have my son in this bag and then nurse him right after his bath. Otherwise I would have to get him dressed quickly or worry about him kicking a regular towel away and getting cold.
My son is only 3 weeks old, but he definetely prefers to be inside his bath bag than wrapped in towels. He is relaxed after the bath, warm and cozy inside the bag, yet free to move his little legs around.
If you like wrapping yourself in a robe after bath, then you understand why your baby will love this bag.
I have two Koala Baby towels besides the bag (for quick baths and back up) which are also great, but to wrap the baby for a little while longer, a bag is the best thing..

Great way to keep baby warm while he dries!
I've used bath bags by Carter's before, and I always thought that they were wonderful, except for one thing... the terrycloth was very thin, not thickly padded like a bath towel -- especially one for a baby -- should be. Still, I used them because the hood kept my baby's head warm and snug and swaddled, while the rest of the bag enveloped him and absorbed any excess moisture after his bath. I received the Koala Baby bath bag aas a shower gift for our new baby, and it was everything I wanted... adorable design, hooded, plus very thick terrycloth. My only qualm is that it's so thick that it hardly fits in the dresser drawer when folded! But that's such a minor thing, compared to baby's comfort after a bath.

Must Have Item for all new Parents!
After receiving the blue Koala Baby After Bath Bag as a shower gift, I went and bought the yellow one as well. With my oldest son, I'd used the Carter's bath bags and liked them very much, but found that the terrycloth was simply not thick enough. I loved the bath bag concept, though -- the hood kept baby's head warm and snuggled, and the bag wrapped baby much more thoroughly than the hooded towel, which would unwind or untuck or simply fall off. The blue Koala Baby bath bag was very very thick -- almost too thick; had problems putting it in my drawer folded! -- but this yellow one is just the right thickness for keeping baby warm while absorbing the excess moisture from bathtime. A perfect way to comfort little ones who hate baths and a cute way to keep baby swaddled!
