Customer Reviews of Keep It Movin
Pathetic Aerobics Video Thank God I didn't buy this unprofessional and repetitive exercise video. (I rent them to review, then decide whether or not to buy.) Whoever shot this video was clueless. Her legs are cut off at the knees so you can't see how her feet move and the rest of the class is so bunched together, it's difficult to see what they're doing. You also barely work up a sweat. As for energy, lethargic is a better word. I see more energy in senior fitness classes at the gym. Do not waste your time or money on this video. It deserves 0 stars, but the form doesn't allow it.
I expected a more professional video
While it is true that Devora Cooper is an excellent dancer and choreographer, I was truly disappointed in this particular video. The choreography is creative, and contemporary, but there really isn't all that much of it. She teaches only about 10 moves and repeats them OVER and OVER and OVER again. She has choreographed one, small dance routine and teaches it from the beginning, adding one step at a time, then repeating the sequence up to where she has taught as many as 6 times before moving onto the next segment. While that is an excellent teaching tool, I was disappointed by the total amount of choreography contained therein. Having taught hip-hop myself, I was looking for more "new" moves to use. The sound quality of the video is rather poor, and the voices hard to hear over the loud music. The abdominal segment is nothing we havn't all seen before, and the stretching technique introduced at the end, by a guest with a degree in sports medicine, is a rather advanced technique only suitable to rather well-conditioned athletes (I know this because I am a certified personal trainer). The video camera is too close to the dancers so that we cannot see their entire bodies. At various times there are portions of both heads and feet missing. Finally, there is a dance performance, though short, done by this group of dancers which left me wishing that they had taught something more like it during the video. My honest assessment is that the producers of this video have used Miss Cooper's good name and talent to produce a C grade video. Those of you who are die-hard Devora fans will still get something out of this. She is very enjoyable to watch, and unquestionably talented, but I cannot heartily recommend this video.
