Customer Reviews of KHypermedia 120 Minute/4.7 GB 2.4x DVD-R Discs (10-Pack with Dual Slim Jewel Case)
BAD 4 out of 10 works. JUST LEAVE IT. NOT EVEN WORTH OF A SINGLE STAR
Nothing but coasters.
I've used different brands of DVD-R's before and never had problems burning DVD-R's. I have a Pioneer DVR-105 and use Nero Ultra Burning ROM as my CD/DVD burner of choice.
Every single one of the Khypermedia DVD-R discs I used were failures. I'm surprised, because I've had nothing but good luck with Khypermedia's CDR media.
Don't blame the media for your incompetence!
I haven't had a problem using KHypermedia's DVD-R or DVD+R discs. I've been using a Lite-On LDW-411 with most recent firmware and Windows XP and these discs play fine in my very cheap AMW dvd player. I wasn't expecting much from the discs because of the reviews I've read and the fact that I got 4 10-packs for free (after rebates) from OfficeMax. They're not lightning fast but you can backup a full DVD in about 30-40 minutes with CloneCD (half the time for ripping the original DVD, half the time for burning), and if they work I really don't care about saving a few minutes on burning time.
I had one problem with a DVD-R disc, but I attribute it to another application which stalled my computer.
Make sure you know what you're doing before you blame the media. In my total burning experience with DVDs and CDs, I've had probably 2 coasters out of hundreds. And those were not necessarily even a problem with the media. I've never had compatibility problems, but maybe I'm just one lucky SOB. If you're using a burner with many known problems, then you might want to reconsider what the problem is when it won't accept your media. Lite-On has always worked perfectly for me.
