Customer Reviews of Just the Same
Forget Shania Twain and Faith Hill ... ... Terri Clark is the most talented (and best looking) "Diva" in country music. Her unpretentious style, deep thoughts and fun songs mixed together to make a great album. This is the style of country music I like. It would be tough to choose which album of hers is better, this one or her debut. They are both outstanding. She's truly talented. I saw her open for George Strait once, but for a lot of people there, Terri Clark was the headliner.
Pale Imitation
After garnering solid goodwill with her debut, it would only be logical that Terri Clark would follow that set with an album following that blueprint fairly closely, which is what she does. It's too bad that the abundance of just-average material littered throughout fails to distinguish itself as anything other than a hollow shell of its' former self(the former self being the first album). She does start off strong, with both 'Emotional Girl' and her highly underrated cover of 'Poor,Poor Pitiful Me' reminding us of her way with uptempo fare, and the title track is a nice companion piece to the previous set's 'If I Were You'. Unfortunately, we also have dreck like 'Neon Flame' and 'Twang Thang', which are not only less-than-thrilling compositions, but show the Canadian Clark affecting her twangy singing to the point of irritation. Overall, this remains the least essential of Clark's recordings.
Great CD!
I have all of Terri Clark's CDs. She is a remarkable entertainer. Staying true to herself and not following others in her industry to pop, she continues to show her fans and others just why she is so loved by her fans. Terri is the epitome of womanhood in it's finest form. This is just another of her fine works.
