When I was a child, I loved to thumb through my Dad's Dynamic Astronomy college course book. I was only in fifth grade so the math was too difficult for me and quite frankly still is. None the less, I was so facinated by the planets and outer space, I was constantly picking this book up. At the time, my Dad was producing videos for GTE. Now we produce them together. Back then I thought, 'That would be cool to make a video about space and the planets and we would get to fly out there to film the planets and everything.' Well, I grew up, just a little bit. I still want to do something to that effect but for now, this is the next best thing. This program and it's companion, The Scientific Revolution, Part 1 introduce the viewer to the men who challenged traditional thought and gave us a new understanding of our solar system, our planet, and ourselves. There are far too many scientists who have acheived great things to include even half of them in the show so we limited it to a handful who were essentially a part of the Renaissance. People like Leonardo Da Vinci, Rene Des Cartes, and Edmund Halley. This is a very well crafted program with lots of great animations.
