Customer Reviews of Joseph Haydn: Klaviersonaten No. 19 & 46
Unforgettable. Simply sublime. He plays sensitively, expressively, soothly, calmly, relaxing... he gives the Sonata a heavenly feeling. Probably Pogorelich best ever interpretation/CD (together with the Scarlatti one).
It's interesting to note the similarity between S.Richter and Pogorelich interpretations. Listen to the sonata 46 they both recorded. This similarity goes on concerning Rachmaninov. Though Pogorelich rendition of Rach's 2nd concerto hasn't been officially released, it seems his interpretation was the slowest ever (reports of 50 minutes vs an average of 35...) Richter's one - tho' acclaimed and praised - hardly can satisfy the purist, being a bit slow too, especially the opening.
Crisp, bright, electrical sounding. Unforgettable.
Unforgettable. Together with the Haydn one, this is probably my fave Pogorelich recording. Ivo has a monster technique and it shows. Crisp, bright, electrical sounding piano for a unique vision. In my opinion the best Scarlatti I ever heard, superior to the Benedetti Michelangeli one, just to name a big one.
Pogorelich at his best for a sparkling Scarlatti.
An almost infinite spectrum of dynamics and colours. Pure, clean brilliance but always tasteful and musical. The recording is beautiful.
Exquisite renditions, many tempos and moods where the artist shows extraordinary dexterity with the complicated two-handed interplays.
