Customer Reviews of Jet
The greatest Puffy album and perhaps J-pop of all time! Although some might say the more recent "Fever Fever" is their greatest album, I think "Jet" is just incredible. I had been an off-and-on J-pop fan for a while before this album came out, but one listen to this, and I knew I was in J-pop heaven. Every subsequent release including "Fever Fever" (good, but spotty) and "Spike" (hmmm...) seemed to be either trying to recapture the magic of "Jet" or diverge on some new styles that didn't quite work for me. If you're at all interested or like Puffy, this is THE album to get no matter how expensive. I easily listened to this at least 23 times...a week back in COLLEGE.
Another classic example of great pop music
I have yet to find one Puffy cd that I do not like. With every Puffy purchase I am constantly blown away by the infectious melodies that this duo churns out. There really isn't any other pop act anywhere on this planet like Puffy who can meld various genres of music successfully and make it sound so refreshing in this day and age of disposable music. Although I have heard most of the songs on this cd from their best of compilation, there were a few songs I haven't heard before which makes it worth the price I paid for this cd.
This album is tops!
Ami and Yumi surf all the styles of the American rock & roll! Some songs sound like the Beatles, some sound like the Who, one even sounds like Black Sabbath, but Ozzy, Roger Daltry or John Lennon weren't nearly as cute and happy as Ami and Yumi! Top notch production and songwriting by Tamio Okuda, a Japanese star in his own right! Also, Puffy has worked with Andy Sturmer of the San Francisco band Jellyfish! If you don't like this album, chances are you're a really mean and disagreeable person! And in that case, who cares about what you think?!
