Customer Reviews of Jackpot
Chingy- Jackpot I decided I would give the whole album a listen after hearing it in a friends ride. Chingy has one of those distinct flows that at times may be very annoying to some, especially when you have heard the singles "Right Thurr" and "Holidae In" feat. Snoop and Ludacris played way to much. I am not into either of these tracks, but I can see why they may appeal to some especially those in the Midwest, there distinct and have nice beats (Trak Starz). One thing I have learned from listening to alot of Rap music, is that some music from the South/Midwest does not appeal to people in other areas, maybe because of the distinct drawls, maybe because its unfamilar. Sure Chingy's lyrics are basic, repetitive and not gripping but that could be said for many rappers out today. The first of two tracks that do standout out for me is "Represent" feat Tity Boi & I-20, just like the beat and chorus to this one. The second is "One Call Away" , this is one of those tracks where Chingys comes off nicely matched with some smooth vocals courtesy of Jason Weaver, this is an impressive cut, beat, chorus and Chingys simple lyrics work well. The beat to "Wurrs My Cash" make another listenable track. The rest of albums tracks are ones I skip over now. I won't be buying Chingy albums, but I wont be hating on them either, If you do want to know what Chingy's about I recommend listening to "Jackpot" first before making up your mind. 2.5.
More Garbage
Chingy is just another in the line of non-rapping fools. Rap is to a point nowdays where it can safely be labeled with Pop.
