Customer Reviews of JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds (White)
Really Great Inexpensive Headphones [[ASIN:B000I68BD4 JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds (White)]]I use my I-Pod a lot when I have to ride the bus to work. Buses are terribly noisy and I needed something that would allow me to hear my music - especially my classical music. I looked at the noise cancelling headphones which caused "sticker-shock"! Most of them cost more than my I-Pod did! I decided to take a chance on these and I ever glad I did! For the price, they did everything I wanted in the way of noise reduction and give really good sound, especially bass sound. I was very surprised at that given the cost.
Okay for a cheapskate, but it's worth it to SPEND MORE.
These ear buds are a decent product for the price, but if you care about sound quality it's worth it to spend $20 more on something better.

>My "at home" headphones are a pair of over-head $35 Sennheiser PX-100s. They have excellent sound quality but are open ear so everyone around me is forced to listen to my music, and they are bulky for traveling.

<
>Here's my breakdown of J-bud's Pros/Cons listed in order of importance (for me):
<
>
<
>Pros:
<
>-Small Size. They'll be great for traveling because they're highly portable.
<
>-LOUD. These suckers are loud, probably because of their form factor (in ear). It gets to the point where I don't want to turn them up anymore for fear of ear damage, when with my other headphones I can't turn the volume up enough. In fact, the louder you crank them the BETTER their sound quality becomes.
<
>-Good Isolation. They do dampen outside sound by plugging your ear much like an earplug. This works two ways: it helps to block out outside sound and it prevents others from being annoyed by hearing your music.
<
>-Cheap. They don't cost much and have listenable sound quality.

<
>Cons:
<
>-Poor sound quality. Part of the reason I don't want to turn them up anymore is the poor sound quality. The sound is kind of "hollow." The bass seems a tad too tight and lacking, there's too much treble, and midrange is just acceptable. As mentioned above, the louder you turn these the better the sound quality becomes. When you have them cranked up the sound fills out more for a better listening experience...if your ears can handle it.
<
>-Cheap materials. The cord is rubbery, there's no adjustable clip, and the changeable rubber stoppers will get lost/damaged quickly if you're careless. The Buds themselves feel kind of chintzy and you'll have to be careful with the cord -> bud connection.
<
>-Earwax collectors. More a flaw with the design form than this brand in particular. I guess it provides an impetus to keep your ears clean so these things don't clog up with earwax. Also, careful using them after a shower/swim lest they get drenched by the water in your ear canal.

<
>If you're used to anything with "pretty good" sound quality, do not buy these ear buds. I would only suggest someone who is extremely poor/budget strapped to buy these; everyone else should spend an extra $20 to buy something good like Sennheiser, Shure, etc.

>IT'S WORTH IT TO SPEND A LITTLE MORE, trust me.
Excellent sound and price
An excellent sound quality for the price. The sound is clear and crisp with just the right amount of bass. They are comfortable on the ears. I love them! The customer service is first rate. There was something wrong with my first pair. They sent me a brand new pair immediately. I tried a cheaper COBY version of this earbuds. They sounded muddy. JBuds are much better.
