Customer Reviews of J.A. Henckels International Classic Forged Stainless Steel Steak Knives, Set of 4
Great quality set, but higher maintenance You expect the Henckels name to presume quality craftsmanship, personal choices for everyone, and ultimately some of the most useful and reliable knives that you will ever own. I've only been using my new set for about a month and a half, but what I presumed has been almost entirely true. This set is great, and I certainly would recommend it to anyone so long as they understand the following two negatives that I've found while using them. <
> <
>(1) The handles are smaller than what one might expect. My wife and I looked at these in the store and agreed that the size was acceptable to us, but I'm sure, and have seen other reviews, that some people will not like the slenderness and lightweight design. <
>(2) These knives survive best when not used in dishwashers, and Henckels even states that they should not be dishwashed. So I always clean, rinse, and dry one knife at a time whenever I use them. Thus they are a bit higher maintenance than that 29.99 16-piece set that you can get at Walmart. <

>A great set of knives but they require more caring owners.
Nice sharp knives
These knives replaced a nice set of Kitchen Aid knives, and they were a definite upgrade. While the Kitchen Aid ones had a nicer "feel" with their contoured handles, there's absolutely no doubt that the Henckels cut noticeably better, and in the end that's what a knive if all about. These are so sharp and cut so well that we've started a running gag at home about the knives cutting through (insert material here) "like buttah".
Pleasantly surprised
I consider the Henkle Steak Knives I puchased a complete success. The price I paid was very resonable the product sturdy and I am looking forward to having a life time of use out of them.
