Customer Reviews of Intervideo WinDVD 8 Platinum
Serial number did not work The serial number for registering the product did not work and there was no assistance from the vendor. Did I get a counterfeit product? Were they sloppy in printing the serial number or verifying the number via the software? I'll never know because I returned the product for a refund.

Cool DVD software
I bought WinDVD8 from a store and there's also the same issue to me. But I found there's a patch released on corel website to fix the problems: corel website > support > knowledge base on left side > choose WinDVD and search > 761907 Vista Support Patch

>After I install the patch from FAQ page, (though it's not easy to find) WinDVD8 works fine on my Vista machine. Its playback quality is really good as well as audio quality though nothing new to audio technology. What I like most is its timestrech function when playing foreign movies so that I can learn Japanese or French better in a slower tempo. Its cinema enhancement also makes movie more "movie-like". After all, it paid off.
