Customer Reviews of Intec PlayStation 2 16MB Memory Expansion Card
Intec NEVER seems to work I got this about a year ago from my mom, she figured to save money on buying memory cards she would give me this. Well, I could never get it to work. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. So I kept it in but I only used my original 8MB memory card. I couldn't access the expansion. Everytime I tried the PS2 would say it needed to be formatted. When I hit "yes" It would say that the formatting failed. I thought that maybe I was doing somethign wrong. However, after checking out HUNDREDS of reviews and forums I found out that 12 out of 14 people are having the same problem (or something similar) and that it's happened on INTEC expansions for all 3 major consoles. <

>I say your better off buying memory cards because INTEC doesn't seem to work...I say stick with the Sony stuff.
Stay away from Intec
I'm a hardcore gamer, I've got a ton of games with complete save files for all those games. I've had this memory card since when Devil May Cry 3 came out, if not longer. Well, what sucks is that I just turned on my PS2 to get some Tekken 5 practice when I realized it didn't load (meaning the memory card was entirely corrupted and that I lost ALL my saves files in the expansion card by Intec). Lucky all the games on the original PS2 memory card was still there, but damn, WTF. And it was when I tried to create a save file for Okami, which I doubt could have been responsible for the corruption. Okay, so this isn't the first time it's happened to me. I bought a memory card for my GameCube which was also by Intec before. It couldn't save Final Fantasy Chronicles. Damn, I thought having a whole 24 mb for my PS2 would save me some cash, but it's not worth losing all the saves. I know what I'm talking about here, so if you still want to go for this product, then go for it but don't say you haven't been warned. So angry.
good, 'till you sell it
ok, a long time ago, I picked one of these up. it came with no disk. not so long ago, while trying to get cash for something, I sold it along with some games. little did I know that I had just sold off all my GT4 data. I am not sure if it compresses the file or just has a itty bitty memory card inside of it, but regardless, I can't acess the GT4 file. 2+ months of grueling gaming down the drain. word of warning: if you get this and use it with games, make sure you do not sell it until you sell the games you used it with! if you do, you'll almost certainly loose your data unless you find another one, and if it only adds to the storage with another memory card, then you're out of luck!
