Customer Reviews of Innova 42010 Stainless-Steel 10-Quart Pressure Cooker with Steamer Insert and Bonus Lid
Stay away - DANGEROUS product We purchased this product a few months ago. Initially, it struck us as not very well made (the steel is pretty thin), it's worth noting that it is made in China. We decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and started using it approximately once-per-week. <

>Th insulation around the lid seal is not very good and always let a couple drops leak while the pot is warming up and working up the pressure. The big problem is that the lid has a second steam escape valve that is activated with a cheap plastic button system -- its purpose is to quickly lower the pressure after cooking rather than waiting a few minutes for the pressure to naturally come down. So just yesterday, during cooking with a pot that was barely half full, this second escape valve exploded. Result -- messy floor, walls, and cabinetry in the kitchen, thank god noone was close by and noone got hurt. <

>Stay away from this product -- it is downright DANGEROUS! Mine is going back to Amazon and I would prompt them to force the manufacturer to issue a safety recall.
It comes with a canning disk
This pressure cooker is very good.

>First of all, it's big. That means you can cook a lot of stuff with it. It's summer time now and I don't want to cook as often. So I simply use this pressure cooker to cook a lot of chicken drumsticks at one time. They would last for two weeks. Together with some ham, that's the meat we eat. All I need besides this for dinner is some good salad.

>But beeing big also means that it's heavy and deep. Half of my arm has to reach inside to clean it.

>We also use it to make rice. The trick is to soak the rice over night.

>Second, it seems very durable. I would hope it last for a long time.

>Third, although it's not mentioned in the description, it does come with a canning disk -- whether I would use it or not is a different question. It also has a stainless steal streamer.

>Amazon currently offers $25 off $125. So what you could do is, buy this pressure cooker, add something else you want valued at >= $25, then you get the extra stuff for free.
no problems
The Innova delivered on its promises and I saved by not buying a Kuhn Rikon. Their mock Le Creuset may indeed suck but I wasn't even tempted to try that product line based on the unseemly resemblance. I think steaming is best for this pressure cooker so I try to use the steamer insert as a barrier to the bottom of the pot to prevent burning. It is quite huge so not that easy to clean.
