Ready for hardwire hookup in your RV, Initial's tiny travel DVD and CD player packs a number of compelling features. An LCD screen is not one of them, however--the CDS-160 is strictly for hookup with an outboard television, display, or computer screen. But the player offers a front-panel audio/video inputs for easy connection with a camcorder or gaming console. This Is Realy a Great DVD Player. Its In a 95 Chev Astro Van. Kids Like it . Plays mp3, Music CD's and DVD's Great and also cd-r. (No Skipping) driving down the road. It is 12 volt only. Great for rv's. Has remote also. Lot's more to it.

What they tell you is not what you get
[...] As I had suspected, this is NOT a portable DVD player. It is intended for permanent installation in an RV. That's why there is no battery, no A/C adapter and no D/C adapter. It utilizes a three wire,hard wired power system: One wire for 12 VDC to the battery, one ground and one wire to Accessory on the vehicle fuse box to switch the unit off when the vehicle is off. Also, there are no "feet" on the bottom to allow it to be put on a table etc.
If you are looking for this type player, then this may be the one for you. I've turned it on and I'm impressed with the features. Full function display on the unit front, including chapter and title and full OSD. It seems to be well made, but I haven't played it enough to really ring it out. And if your interested, it will play DVD-R recordable discs. Haven't tried DVD+R. I'm also impressed with the quick response I received from INITIAL. They were extremely helpful and courteous. I'm upgrading from 1 star to 4 stars based on the quick response I received form INITIAL, and my first impressions of the unit.
