Customer Reviews of Independent
Dark and slow heavy metal Right from the start, as the opening "I can feel it" begins, you can hear that this is a dark and heavy album that leans a little bit towards NU-metal. The first and over all impression is that "INDEPENDENT" (2002) is slow, over weight, lacks melody, and with Lenny Wolf's moaning and tortured voice together with the massive wall of sound makes my ears a bit numb. I think Wolf should have the good sense to include a couple of faster and lighter songs to balance the more depressing tunes that dominate the album.
Long time fans of Kingdom Come (i.e. Lenny Wolf) will probably hear traces from days gone by and the acoustic "Forever" is one of those songs that bring on memories from the past. I guess you have to give this album a lot of playing time to find it enjoyable because it's certainly not music for everyone, and it takes quite some time to appreciate at least some of the songs. I advise you to get Kingdom Come's first self titled album from 1988, "HANDS OF TIME" (1991) and even "MASTER SEVEN" (1997) before considering buying this one.
Great Album
Another Great Album from kingdom Come. They still have the same sound that makes them so unique."Didnt Understand" is by far the BEST song on the album. It's amazing that LENNY writes and plays all the instruments on this album(except drums..I think).
Just wished Kingdom Come would tour America.
lenny has done it again
I didnt think it was possible but Lenny did it again. Independent is one of their best. I still would have a hard time saying which one is the best, as I stated on my review of Too.
We in America are missing out on a great rock band maybe this will be their rebreak-through in America. I would love to see them in concert again.
