Customer Reviews of In Style [1-year subscription]
Truly a fashion 'bible'! I have been reading InStyle for the past 6 years, and have never been disappointed in an issue. It is filled with ideas for fashion, be it the latest trend in clothes, jewelry, bags, shoes, and has a very insighful beauty segment, where products are reviewed thoroughly. All in, a great magazine for fashion and beauty tips, and for the money [much cheaper if you subscribe] you get real value [one of the thickest fashion magazines around]. My only grouse is that it does tend to favor the 20-late 30s age group, and as I'm approaching 40, I would love to see the other age groups included as well. But, on the whole, a great buy, and a quality fashion/beauty mag!
A lot of "fashion" bang for the buck, except . . .
A few years ago I would have said that this was my "fashion bible", but as time has passed, I don't find all of the contents as relevant to me as I used to -- I realize I'm getting older (a "40 something" who looks and acts like a "30 something" on most days); however, the magazine hasn't grown like I would have hoped. I have broadened my fashion horizons, and while I realize it's important to keep abreast of the fashion trends, I also believe that people my age and older deserve a little "face time" as well.

>I admit that there are still fashion suggestions for the 40 and perhaps 50 year olds, but the majority of the fashion pages seem slanted to the much younger set (I'm talking 20 - mid 30 year olds). Thank goodness we've got some stylish older women whom we can admire in photos shown after Award shows, but the majority of the time these generations are generally ignored.

>Maybe I'm just having a "closer to 40 something" day today, but I think InStyle might want to think about incorporating a greater expanse of articles and clothing choices for all age groups -- otherwise I'm afraid that Harper's Bazaar will just have to become my "fashion bible".
I have not received my first issue yet
I'm sorry but I cannot review this as I have not receive it yet. I will be glad to after I have.
