Customer Reviews of Ignition
This makes "Americana" look like a joke! This is really a great album. You can tell it is less "polished" than future offspring albums, but that doesn't really matter. The point is, it is a great album, despite the fact the drums sound weird, and that it sounds very ameteur. It's still great.
Session: 10/10
One of my favorite songs, though the profanity in the beginning is kind of hard on the ears.
We are one!: 10/10
It has some of the best guitar riffs they've written. Some of the best lyrics they've written. Why CAN'T it be one of the best songs on the album?
Kick him when he's down: 10/10
When I first bought the album, this is the first song out of 12 that attracted me to it; the first song I listened to.
Take it like a man: 8/10
A pretty cool song, but it gets boring after a while.
Get it right: 7/10
Don't really care for this one. It's just not catchy enough for my tastes.
Dirty Magic: 10/10
Easily another favorite of mine on the album. Even if it is slow, it is still catchy and chilling.
Hypodermic: 10/10
A great song that grows on you every time you hear it.
Burn it up: 9/10
A pretty funny song. Nicely written!
No Hero: 9/10
A great punk riff, and more great punk singing.
L.A.P.D: 10/10
My personal favorite off the album. Why doesn't more people like this? If you like the song "Mota" off "Ixnay", you will definately like this song.
Nothin From Somethin: 7/10
Don't really remember this one. What does that tell you?
Forever and a day: 9/10
An O.K. song, but it just doesn't have that same feel all the other songs have.
Anyway, this is a great album. I remember when I first got this I thought I dreamed it, just because it was so different from all the other albums I had at the time from them. This just goes to show you that it is very different from any other offspring album.
right on par.
folks, this would have been their best CD if not for several glaring oversights. regardeless of that, it's their second best recordiong, tied with "Smash", with "Ixnay On The Hombre" in first (and "Americana" and that god-awful self titled in fourth and last, respecivley). there are a grand total of three songs I hate on this album, and those, my freinds, are real stinkers. they are, just to get them out of the way: "Take It Like A Man", "Get It Right", and "Burn It Up", all of which lack any real substance or direction to make them worth listening to. and, as I've said earlier, the glaring oversight in this album is: the mixing/editing. I don't remember the drums being *that* loud. but it's an underground, so I'll give it brownie points.
thankfully, the album's strong points overcome the weak ones, and this album contains such classic Offspring songs such as "Session", "Kick Him When He's Down", "Dirty Magic", and of course "No Hero". but there are other great songs, too: "Hypodermic" (up until the end), "L.A.P.D.", "Nothing From Something", and "Forever And A Day". "Kick Him When He's Down", the "Come Out And Play" of Ignition, is right up there with The "Meaning Of Life" for the best Offspring song ever. this is an absolute must for Offspring fans (and anyone who likes punk, as well). now, quick! go count up how many songs I said I liked! nine, right? would it suprise you if I told you there are twelve songs on this album? five stars.
nicccccccccccccccccccccccce
this is a truly awesome cd. offspring's true punk rock vocals and drums and guitars. there are some awesome lyrics and are very catchy like l.a.p.d (extreamly catchy and hilarious.) But if your parents have a problem with explixit lyrics then dont let them lissen to it because it starts out with fu** fu** fu** fuuuuuuuuu**. lol sill great cd not my fave thoe i sugjest Amaricana. happy lissening
