Customer Reviews of I Preferred Their Earlier Stuf
Unknown, Unheard But Unbelievably Good ................. There would only be a small group of people that could say that they had heard of Turtlehead, and an even smaller group that could say they owned one of their CD's and were fans. That unfortunately is the sad truth about this competent group of punkers. I stumbled across them a few years ago now, on a Bodyboard video that was released in Australia called "Power Trips", it featured two tracks from their first CD, they were firmly cemented in my mind for many years after that, until i decided to find them and see what else they had to offer. The first CD seemed somewhat impossible to find in my local CD shops so i bought the newer one, and was not disappointed. Turtlehead has elements of Strung Out, Face To Face and even a bit of Pulley, but still they maintain some originality and freshness.
The CD runs relatively short but every song is one you can listen to and become obsessed with (something that seems to be lost alot in todays market). The definitive stand-outs are "Gary D", "Over You" and "Another Stupid Song".
So if you are a straight out punk fan, or looking for something new and somewhat underground, then maybe you should give them a run. It will not be a mistake.
