Volume one, titled "The Early Months," discusses the baby's growth, how the mother's body changes, normal discomforts, choosing and communicating with a health care provider, the first exams, keeping physically and mentally healthy, and coping with the mother's feelings. The second volume, "The Middle Months," explores many of the same topics as they relate to the second trimester of pregnancy. In addition, childbirth classes and birth plans are also discussed. Volume three, "The Later Months," again reviews growth, change, and health issues leading up to the first, G-rated stages of labor. No realistic delivery room scenes here. Probably best used as an introduction to pregnancy for first-time mothers. A helpful, 180-page paperback book accompanies the 80-minute series. --Liane Thomas
