Customer Reviews of I'm Kool Moe Dee
Excellent compilation of Kool Moe Dee's best songs I just saw this CD in a bargain bin recently. Heard most of the songs and it is a good budget-conscious release of Kool Moe Dee's best songs. Heavy hitting numbers like classic hit Go See The Doctor, They Want Money and Wild Wild West start the album out with a bang! One funny number is the funky, beat-heavy Avenue, where on the second verse, Kool leaves someone stranded on the street, saying See Ya!, and the sound of a car screeching comes afterward! It just shows his humor. Kool shows his more socially conscious side and defending hip-hop on Poetic Justice, which has a live band feel instead of the multiple samples on it. Before the group Guy, Teddy Riley produced several of Kool Moe Dee's hits, bringing his New Jack Swing to Kool's hip-hop sound and vibe. They're well represented here. How Ya Like Me Now even goes after his rival competitor of LL Cool J when both artists had competitive albums in 1987. Kool had a cool flow, a sense of knowledge and a simplified rap style that has influenced many of today's artists. If you want to recall rap's golden era of the late '80s, you need to purchase this album now!
