Customer Reviews of Hoyle Card Games 2002
Great! I own an older version of Hoyle Card Games and I love it. The characters are funny and you can program them to be talkative or quiet. I use this CD nearly every day and the characters still say things that I've never heard them say before--and I've had the game 3 years. My nieces and nephews (5,8, and 10) head for the computer and plug in the CD as soon as they get here. All backrounds, sounds and cards are individually programmed by you but it's not difficult. You can make the game play easy, moderate or expert and can make the play as fast as possible. It's great for the whole family---you'll love it.
Hours of entertainment with so many great features
From Pinochle to Old Maid, there's great games, and a ton of surprises. My 7 year old loves the face-maker and we always create our own faces when playing the card games. The actual card play is quick, clean and sophisticated.
There's even a list of chartacters you can play with, and the all are animated, talk, and you get to use their skill level. I find Elaine to particilulary irritating, but a great partner.
In today's world of video gasmes, it seems that younger people are addicted to the gimmicky play and whistles and balloons. Hoyle Card Games has the basic great games, plus awesome graphics, backgrounds and special effects.
Bottom Line: It's a great gift for anyone who loves top play cards or a beginner. Just go get it!
Not for mac os x
This program has to run in classic mode which is annoying and the picture quality is awful. I also don't like the characters and backgrounds - I prefer the boring drabness of my old ms windows game but haven't found anything like it for macs yet.
