Customer Reviews of Howling V - The Rebirth
not a bad werewolf flick This movie stands out among the Howling sequels as the only one with any quality to it. The others range from silly (Howling 3) to downright unwatchable (Howling 2). Although it has nothing to do with the original film, Howling 5 is both gripping and scary- rarities for late 80's B-grade horror flicks.
PHILIP HAMMONS REVIEW # 2
I've already reviewed this horror movie but I want to review it again. Howling V - The Rebirth is my favorite horror movie EVER!!! The soundtrack is very eerie and spooky, and the plot is great too. However, if the werewolf would have been shown just a little bit more and had the acting been a little more convincing, this film may have been a classic. This movie does seem to take its plot & story a lot more seriously than most films of its kind, but that's why I like it.
MY FAVORITE HORROR MOVIE!!!
This is my favorite horror movie ever!!! I am now 18 years old and I first saw this movie when I was atleast 7 years old, and as a result, it gave me nightmares for years!!! Even though the werewolf is slightly shown in the film, and despite the fact that some of the acting is cheesy, I STILL LOVE IT! I have always had a great imagination and this is the kind of horror movie that allows me to use my imagination to see the evil. The film is about a group of heirs that are taken to a Hungarian castle that has been shut down for 500 years------for a rather fun game of who's the werewolf! It's more of a whodunnit film that takes its story a lot more seriously than most werewolf films. And that's what I like about it! It's not for all tastes, but worth a look if you don't mind a serious horror movie with mystery and a lack of gore. Gore hounds will be disapointed. The film also has a very eerie soundtrack. The film may be boring to some, a delight to others.
Rated R for violence, some language, and two scenes of female nudity.
