Customer Reviews of Home Design Quick & Easy 3.0
...is anything *but* quick or easy This stuff is junk. While promising, it has numerous glitches and flaws--along with no support, updates, or patches (I bought it several months ago, yet no updates are available, despite numerous flaws and bugs)--which would prevent my recommending it to anyone. Among them: <
> <
>- they claim that it allows you to modify textures and patterns on the cheezy furniture provided; it does not. You are stuck with cheezy furniture with whatever cheezy pattern they and/or color they give you. <
> <
>- in many cases, it will not even allow you to modify the *size* of objects, while others can be modified, even in the same object class. So, you may be forced to use a different style of sofa than you would prefer to change its size, as your preferred sofa stubbornly refuses to let you modify its size. <
> <
>- if you try to create and edit a single room (which one would like to do when decorating a room; there is no reason to create a floorplan of an entire house to decorate a single room, after all!), the tool insists upon viewing each wall of the room as an "outside wall", which restricts your ability to move and/or edit walls. Further, if you're using the "virtual walk through" portion, it beeps annoyingly when you back into a wall, rather than simply allowing you to back through--even if you've declared the wall to be "invisible", which you must do if you abut two rooms together, as the tool is too stupid to allow you to selectively delete individual walls. <
> <
>- the tool often crashes with no reason. <
> <
>- it also contains strange bugs, like suddenly putting appliances and/or furniture either oddly suspended in mid air, or below ground level. Suddenly, your sofa and chairs are partially submerged! Your refrigerator can fly!! Furthermore, once it starts doing this, it won't stop, and your only option is to live with it, or scrap the room you just spent hours creating and start fresh. <
> <
>- it does not contain rounded corners, art niches, arches, split staircases (except one laughable style), stone fireplaces, picture frame molding, or anything one would encounter in a modern semicustom or custom home. You can try to create them, but then the bugs and crashing start in. <
> <
>Bottom line: if you don't mind bug-ridden software with no support, and if you're planning to live in a square house with square rooms, this is the software for you!
Waste of money
Very rudimentary, practically unusable. Freezes frequently even on a powerful system. Graphics are rather sad. If you add items, they never appear in the correct place (add a chair and see it hang in midair! add a refrigerator and it will always have its doors to the wall!). Takes 45 minutes to install and a half hour to uninstall. Run away and spend your money more wisely.
