What a crazy movie! This movie is like Sienfeld; the topics are useless but funny. Thane Furrows, the main character, complains about loud music, cereal, telemarketers, insurance salesmen, Happy the Clam, and basically everything else, too. After all, how can a pre-recorded message be friendly, even by calling him "T. Furrows?" His response is "My name is Winky, the magic dog-mule-hare catcher." About the only time he ever leaves his apartment is when Death comes for him (Jim Carrey's tiny role) and then decides he's too annoying to take. Still, you'll fall over laughing.

There are high strung people in this world, and the brilliant writers did a convincing job of showing us how extreme those sort of people can be. Jim Carrey was a good second fiddle but Steve Oedekerk is the master this time. In this dark comedy, he is a creative genius who gives us an insight into our own minds. Don't we (and this gives nothing away) really feel that way about insurance salesmen? For us non-smokers, isn't it just the truth? Steve has the guts to tell it like it is. To those of you who haven't watched it--watch it, and then watch it again. It's rich with humor, with commentary, and with insight into the human mind. Deep down, aren't we all really thinking what Steve has the guts to say? It's ironic yet genius that such a cynical guy is a children's book author. The humor is understated but complicated, so much like "Seinfeld's" plots about nothing. "High Strung" is a hilarious way to remind us that life can be monotonous, irritating, boring, frustrating, and then, the last point of all: be careful what you wish for!
this is one of the best movies ever
this is a b movie but is awesome.It is a lot like seinfeld the way the crapiest stuff happens to him and it seems every things going wrong for him. I would spend $20 on this movie I dont know if I would spend much more. Jim Carrey plays a very small role in this as the devil
