Amazing Indie film!
I live in Western, Pennsylvania where this film was shot, and I bought a copy for that reason alone. I can't tell you how surprised I was! "High Point" is a really terrific movie, all the more so because it's a low-budget film. Director Tony Urban shows great promise, for this being his directorial debut(he wrote "Poor White Trash" which stars Sean Young, William Devane, Jason London, Jaime Pressly and others). The camera really has al ife of its own and surprised the viewers with it's original storytelling style.

The script is top notch, eons better than most low-budget films have. The story alone is worth buying a copy! Great, real sets. You can tell this isn't a glamorized "Hollywood" film, and it just makes the film that much more involving. You feel like you're seeing real events.

The only thing holding this back is the acting. The lead, Chad Whitson is very strong, as is Josh Picard(Bear)and Chip Hajel(Orlando). But the two main actresses need to work harder. They're still passable though.

This a great little movie. Buy it, because this is going to be one of those film everyone's going to want in a few years when it's director and cast make it HUGE. This is the "Blood Simple" of the new millennium!
