Customer Reviews of Hers
The Best Fitness magazine I have subscribed to just about every fitness magazine out there geared towards women. This magazine is tops. I like the detailed workout descriptions and plenty of pullout material. I also like the fact that they list the heights and weights of the professional athletes. Most articles also list the their daily fitness programs and meals. I also like the Oxygen magazine. I am going to start a subscription to that magazine as well. I have canceled my subscritions to all of the other magazines because they seemed to be geared towards being very skinny and not necessarily healthy and strong.
Highly recommended by aspiring personal trainer
I am studying to take the ACE test to be a personal trainer, and I was previously an ACE-certified aerobics instructor and a health and fitness consultant in the Air Force -- I highly recommend this magazine. I have saved every issue since its inception (it branched off from Muscle and Fitness), and I refer back to the articles regularly. This magazine is a good mix of innovative weight training programs for the gym or at home; cardio programs to increase variety and decrease boredom; excellent nutrition articles, diet plans and recipes; and an objective source for issues affecting women who work out regularly-- breast implants, supplement usage, diet aids, etc. It also includes a lot of coverage of fitness and figure competitors and competitions, but even if you're not interested in this area (I'm not), this magazine is still well worth the price of the subscription.
A sad comparison to the men's version.
It's almost like the publisher's are tying too hard to make this magazine like Cosmo or Redbook. When the main objective should be muscle building for women. With more training tips, and exercises to enhance one's physique, I would recommend Oxygen magazine, it gives you more bang for your buck!
