Customer Reviews of Here's Looking at You, Kid!
Funny and educational The other day my son came up to me and told me that an elephant is very social, and that camels humps are filled with fat not water and a whole bunch of other animal facts that I had no idea he knew. He's only 3 1/2, and i couldn't figure out where he learned this information until I remembered the video my brother had given him for Christmas last year. He always asks to see it, but when it's on, I always take advantage of the time and tend to chores and work. This time I sat down and watched it with him, and I have to say that if you're an adult who opts to sit down with your young child to watch a video, this is a good pick because its double edge humor had me laughing out loud, too. When my second grader came home from school that day, he watched it with his brother and HE loved it too, so I'd say this is a video that appeals to many ages. I liked Ed Asner's voice as the main dog here. We just saw him in the movie Elf and it was fun to see him on our TV as a dog.
Hilarious and educational!
This video is one of the most refreshing I've watched with my kids in years! The animals are incredibly funny, and the kids love to "feed" them. They rush up to the TV with their arms outstretched and thrill when the animal looks like its eating! they don't get to watch many videos, but when they do, they always want to watch the "Joe the Dog" video. I like that its educational without them even knowing it! They tell their dad and me all kinds of interesting animal facts at dinner these days.
Also, there's none of that hyper stuff so many kids programs have. It is a real charmer that I'd recommend to any parent.
A very funny video
My mom got this video for my little brother but I love it almost as much as he does and I'm 10. My teacher was surprised when I told her something about giraffes that she didn't know during a talk about giraffes. I learned it from this tape. My friends come over and want to see this video sometimes, so I know I'm not the only older kid who likes it.
