Customer Reviews of Hearts of Fire
greatly pleased This book tickled my imagination. There were a few typos but the story itself had me from go. These two need each other like the moon needs the sun. It was magic for me, I have reread it twice since I bought it. I like to see a story like this told from the heart. Even if it is fiction and it was her first book, I'll buy everything she outs out because she can only get better.
Yuck!
I agree with the others who said this romance was a dud. Lord, but did Tatiana ever get on my nerves! After she got her butt kicked for the umpteenth time, I was starting to cheer for the bad guys, even as slimy as they were. Most African-American women I know (including myself) are very strong and confident; we wouldn't be caught dead acting like this idiot wench! The naive virgin thing had to go as well. I was also a late bloomer but I sure knew what I was doing when the time came. In this day and age, what woman doesn't? There are so many books out there that one could be a virgin and and be superlative in bed the first time. Tatiana was spoiled, selfish, idiotic, immature and just too out there. Mathew had entirely too much baggage; there is not a woman alive who would have put up with his hard-as-nails, emotionless personality. Life is just too short to beg a man like this to be a friend, let alone a lover or a husband. The terrible spelling errors, grammar and typos were extremely distracting. Ms. Valyan had two editors but I could have done a much better job by myself. In fact, I found myself correcting the errors when I was bored with the plot. Don't buy this book!! It isn't worth the time, energy or money. I gave it one star only because I couldn't rate it in the negative digits. Sandra Kitt, where are you?
Save your money and your time
I read this book. I was determined that my hard earned money would not go to waste, but it was a trial.
From the onset, I realized that this was not a greatly developed story. Neither character was very endearing. There relationship was so on again off again, and the characters of Mathew and Tatiana, so wishy washy it left me wanting something, anything!
I love reading interracial romance books, but this particular book leaves a lot to be desired. The story is chocked-filled with more holes than a slice of swiss cheese. And there were so many typos, I could have done a better job of editing.
I tried to see through to the good part, but it just wasn't there. However, it kept going and going just like that bunny commercial, and it wouldn't stop. Leave this one on the shelf.
