Customer Reviews of Happy Feet (Combo HD DVD and Standard DVD) [HD DVD]
Happy Feet My daughter and myself view the movie at the theater and we also bought the dvd. We where pleased it was very funny and entertaining some say preachy I say informative children as well as adults need to see the impack of our actions do to the wild life as well as echo system. We love it on all counts. I wish people would lighten up and enjoy the film and learn a little at the same time. <

Total Disgust and disappointment
After waiting months in anticipation of watching adorable little penquins in an animated movie......I was dumbfounded after say 15 minutes into the not so movie. The adorable penquin billed up to us throughout the months is disowned by family, friends and the community all because he can't sing but can only dance!! My first reply outloud was, this is a childs movie? To do the same thing that is done to poor innocent disabiled children or a child that is not perfect in the eyes of others or cool enough. Than all that singing, it was awful, and such a mix, sexual, rock, 70's, 50's even. Childen associated with this? Boring as hell. My husband and I just looked at each other with the look of whats going on? The movie went from cute and cuddly to the spike channel. Than on to aliens? Even the dancing in it was not suitable for children. I was disgusted by the whole thing. I immediately put the dvd in my garage sale with my own warning on it of "Beware, movie is not a movie, your child will not like this, you will not like this, oh what the hell just throw it away"! Academy award for the worst movie it should of gotten, someone bought their way to that one.
Incomprehensibly lame and agenda-packed...but it sure does look good!

>Let it be said that this is, by far, the best-looking HD DVD I've seen yet. In 1080p, there's some scenes that look real, literally.

>Unfortunately, the movie itself is a total loss. I can't imagine anyone liking it (aside from deluded/paid-off "film critics"), even children, especially after they're taught, by this "film's" terrifically skewed finale, that mankind is completely to blame for all the planet's problems. Aside from the ridiculous political agenda, the film is still garbage, any way you slice it. Typical Hollywood stereotypes (the redneck, double-negative slanging father penguin (I think it was Hugh Jackman, though I can't be sure) as well as the spanish-accented birds) and Williams' washed-up-ten-years-ago-humor abound, "Happy Feet" is, quite simply, horrendous. Full of terrible music ("Ael-vis" fans will surely eat it up...kids? Not so much...) with lyrics sincerely inappropriate for children (yes, this movie was aimed squarely at children, regardless of the MPAA's "rating" (which, incidentally, should have been PG-13 due to the innuendo and political messages)), voices we cringe at hearing (especially Woods...ugh), and skewed values, it's really abominable, and the fact that any "critics" of film have given it positive reviews is simply stunning. The fact that it won an Academy Award should be shocking, but it unfortunately isn't.

>However, if you're looking for a spectacular HD DVD demo, this one is it! :)

>HD DVD/Blu-Ray: Rental only, unless you're in need of a demo disc. However, I'd recommend "The Polar Express" to serve that end. Better film (not great), awesome picture quality.

>DVD: Forget it. Save your hard earned money (or rent "March of the Penguins," the movie that "Happy Feet" has permanently marred). I only hope that I can watch "March of the Penguins" without remembering this trash...

>Please don't get me wrong; I'm all for animals' rights and mankind is certainly to blame for a lot of the planet's issues. However, this film had no place to insert such a message, and in such a sneaky fashion. It was marketed solely as a light, fun children's movie, and it's anything but. I think that's a point we can all agree on. The bottom line is that, messages outstanding, it still isn't a well-written or produced movie! Aside from that, since it's inappropriate for kids and spasm-inducingly boring/irritating for adults, it has no target audience! Just forget about it, and be glad you did!
