Customer Reviews of Hamburger Hill
Hamburger Hill At first, excuse my bad american language, I'm French living in Florida (married here) for only one year and a half... <
>My husband is a veteran of Vietnam... the quality of this movie is perfect about colors, script. It shows the reality of that terrible war which has been controversial so much at the moment (like currently the war in Irak). This movie could be a good support (aid ?) for the youngest about the history of their country.
Ultra-Realistic Vietnam War Epic!
This film really blew me away. The realism is astounding in it's attention to detail. There were several very powerful scenes, the friendly-fire incident, the tape recorder scene ( especially the ending to this scene), including some very powerful moments on the hill itself. This film ranks right up there with Platoon, Apocalypse Now, and Saving Private Ryan, and in many ways better! I think the main reason it has not received much attention is beacause you always feel a little distant from the characters for some reason.

>This is a great Vietnam war film that is unbelievably realistic and originally done!
Better then PLATOON???
Many people will disagree, but I 100% enjoyed this movie, even more so than the highly over-rated Platoon. So why is it so good? Well, in short, because it's realistic, the acting is brilliant and the action is impressive...making this film great for repeated viewing. Ok, so some of the effects are a little dated e.g. when a soliders head is blown to shreads the bits of skull are obviously made of cheap rubber or plastic.

>However it's the films unique editing style and camera work which makes it so good. It holds nothing back from the viewer, and at times the violence can be quite horrific. The only other under-rated movie which ever came close to the violence portrayed here is the almost un heard of The Last Hunter.
