Customer Reviews of HP LaserJet 3300mfp All-in-One
Disgraceful machine, disgraceful company These comments relate to the HP3330 multifunction. I purchased one of these machines in summer 2002 for use in a home office. Usage was modest. After 2 years of excellent printing and copying, this machine decided to start making grinding noises, failed to fuse the toner on the left side of the paper and after a day or two, spat out pieces of the fuser strip. I called the repair people who charged $265 just to come look at the machine, and then a further $300 to fix the fuser - I paid about $750 for the machine new so this was not a good investment - but you don't know the cost of the repair going in. Five months later (and the repair warranty timed out after 3 months) and less than 5,000 sheets printed since the repair, the grinding started again and the replacement fuser stopped working. I won't buy another laser printer from HP ever. In fact I wouldn't even accept one in a business environment if it was given to me for nothing. During my career, HP has descended from being the most reliable and reputable supplier of test equipment and computer equipment of the highest order to something close to General Motors with their "Good enough till the warranty runs out" philosophy. I've still got HP laser printers (4L and 6L type) still running years and years after they were discontinued. Now I have a useless HP3330 thinking itself to be a boat anchor. I suggest any buyer of HP laser printers think long and hard before buying any of these products. <

>I give this machine 0 stars because it ain't worth the money but this comment won't let me enter 0 so I have to put just 1 star to make the comment go.
Horrible
We purchased one for our small office. Set up went smoothly, but it would hang in the middle of printing any job over 3 pages. The web site and user's manual had no description of these problems. The web site is particularly useless. 6 days after setting up the printer, the power went out. This printer never recovered, even though every computer in our office was unaffected. Don't waste your time or money.
Horrible Execution
It is not only Mac users who will want to throw this thing out the window. I had numerous errors using a G3 and G4 Mac running OS9, including printing and especially scanning, so I finally gave up and connected it to a PC running Win 98, only to experience about the same thing. Errors, system crashes, etc. I give this one star because as a copier and standalone fax it works fine. The software is abysmal, atrocious, etc., and I tried to get help on their website which is hopeless and then they take over 24 hours to respond to emails with no real help. I have a HP 4M+ which has been 100% reliable for ten years so I thought I was safe to stick with HP, but apparently they think in order to compete they have to churn out junk and then run and hide.
