A great book This is a wonderful book providing a variety of interesting, though often technical, theories of solidarity and group cohesion. The book's strength is that a number of emminent scholars have contributed work that pushes the boundaries in solidarity research. This book is not for the fainthearted or for the lay reader, however. Many of the papers rely on the reader having previous knowledge of basic sociological concepts and theoretical frameworks. Nonetheless, the book stands as a monument to great scholarship, and will doubtless become a classic work in understanding social cohesion. Bravo!
