Good Swing. This is a good swing. My daughter absolutely LOVES it and I can't tell you how many times we have used it to put her to sleep. It has 3 speeds, though we like the middle speed the best. The highest speed is too fast. The lowest speed is great for putting cranky infants to sleep. The music is ok...it can get annoying after awhile, but the swing has different volume settings so you can turn the music down to a level that just the baby can hear while in the swing. The 'lie back' position of the chair is great because very young infants can sit in the swing and have neck support. Like I said, my 6 week old daughter just loves being in the swing.
Now, a few complaints. The motor IS loud and can get annoying. It also makes it hard to hear the baby over the baby monitor because it is so loud. Also, the swing speeds up and slows down , in every setting. It does not swing consistantly. The activity bar is boring, with only two toys on it and my daughter never pays attention to them and the bear mobile is worthless. It would be more useful if the bears moved or did something to stimulate the baby's interest...all they do is hang there.
I do like this swing, I just think it could use some improvements.
Should be alot better for the money
I received this swing as a gift when my daughter was 2 weeks old. For the first 4 weeks this was a great swing. Then it got boring.
The toy bar might as well not even exist. The toys don't move or do anything, the music is annoying and usually is left off because my baby doesn't like it. I have only been able to get my swing to
go two speeds. Fast or slow. There is no in between. The mobile is extremely boring. It is useless. I already had a pack -n-play that had this exact same one on it so needless to say it did not hold my daugther's attention on either product. The recline position is great for a newborn but I couldn't tell much of a difference in the next two positions. My daughter is now almost 5 months old and I have the seat in the highest notch and she is still reclined. Not good for a baby that is not ready to sit up by herself but thinks she is. She gets very frustrated with it in the current position as well as
getting mad at the toys on the toy bar because they don't do anything. I am lucky if she will
sit in the swing for more than 15 minutes. Very sad since my friend has a different type of swing and she will sit in it for several hours at a time.
Over all I would not recommend this product. You can find
alot nicer swing for about the same amount of money.
Life-saver!
This swing is great! Our six-week old daughter has refused to sleep in her crib every since we brought her home. Thankfully, we got this swing as a gift soon after.
This swing seems to be perfect for her to sleep in when it is fully reclined, and it has allowed my husband and I many wonderful nights of sleep. At just 3 weeks old, she started sleeping through the night! When we put her to sleep each night, we keep the music and speed on their lowest settings.
It's also great during the day when I need a few minutes to do things around the house. Yes, the mobile is a little boring. But I hung some little brightly colored carseat toys from it, and it now keeps her attention for several minutes at a time. The toy bar is totally useless right now, but she might pay attention to ut when she gets older.
I saw that another reviewer mentioned that their baby enjoys staring through the mesh on the sides of the swing. Our daughter does the same thing and will sometimes end up falling asleep.
The battery life is great so far...this swing has been going for about 14 hours everyday for the past month and we still haven't had to chabge the batteriez!
As for the motor, it is a little bit loud especially when we try to put her down when she's already asleep. But, it does provide a very rhythmic sort of white noise. I'm not sure how loud it is compared to other swings, though.
Overall, we love this swing. We just hope that we will eventually get her to sleep in her crib!
