Customer Reviews of Graco Heirloom Bassinet in Jasmine
Pros and Cons of this bassinet.... Pro: electronic music box has very soft and pleasant tones, not the usual annoying sounds most electronic music boxes have. Adjustable volume and has nature sounds as well.
Pro: nice rose color, not Barbie pink.
Pro: spacious bed and bottom storage.
Pro: wheels roll easily and lock in place when needed.
Con: canopy must be removed in order to use the drop side feature for easier access to baby when bassinet is placed next to the bed.
Con: bassinet actually stands quite high, even at its lowest setting. It has adjustable height but only adjusts higher than it already is.
Con: has a vibrator to sooth baby, but requires padding (not included) or it just "knocks" against the plastic underside of the bed.
All-in-all, a good bassinet that we would recommend.
Pretty and Practical and Almost Perfect
I was skeptical about buying a bassinet with a zillion features, as my first child didn't care for all the music and lights etc. But this bassinet was so pretty, I thought it was worth it, even if we didn't use all the bells and whistles.
However, every baby is different, and with my second, I am very glad to have all the choices. After trying all the features, our magic combination is the vibrate feature and the sound of water in the nature sounds. This may change next month, but with all the choices, we can try something different. I also don't mind the fact that you have to take the shade off to turn it into a bedside bassinet, because even though it has some dangling stars and moons, its monochromatic tones make its function mostly aesthetic anyway.
As for the cons, we don't really get the benefit of the rocking, as you have to retract the wheels in order to rock the bassinet, and that isn't very convenient to do. I suppose if you don't need to wheel the bassinet around, you could just leave them retracted. We also go through batteries very often, and the cover for the pad frayed upon first washing.
All in all, if your baby doesn't really need to rock AND roll, you shop for batteries at a warehouse store, and you hand wash the pad cover, there are no faults with this bassinet! I still feel the pros definately outweigh the cons.
Very Feminine
I received this bassinet as a shower gift. I think it's beautiful. I was glad to receive one so feminine. Most of the other bassinets lean towards the masculine side. The only draw back I've found so far is that after only two washings, the pad cover that comes with the bassinet has started to fray and the seam has started to seperate.
