sturdy bassinet with every feature
This bassinet definitely has all the features you could be looking for: vibration, music, nature sounds, lights, removable top, changing table, even a reclining mattress. Our baby is due in a couple of months, and I admit that I often don't find the reviews by people who haven't actually used something with their baby as useful, but I wanted to address some of the things I was looking for and couldn't tell about until I actually bought it and set it up.

My main concern was the sturdiness, and this one seems very strong. The large storage basket underneath seems to reinforce the structure, and I feel confident about putting our baby in it. Our 17-pound cat jumped into the storage basket as soon as we had it together, and the structure didn't wobble at all (not that we'll encourage that spot for cat naps)! The canopy pops up and down easily, and I don't feel like I need to be too gentle with it, and even though you can take the top off to use as a Moses basket, it snaps on and is reinforced with velcro straps, so it feels quite secure. The changing table under the bed does seem pretty small, so we may not use that for very long, but when we put it together, it felt sturdier than the one in the store, so it's probably good for a young baby.

Putting it together was a bit complicated, and my husband was frustrated with the lack of throughness in directions and pictures, but we did get it together, in about an hour and a half. After all, you only have to put it together once.

The mattress does seem a bit thin, but I've noticed that all bassinet mattresses are thin; perhaps babies don't need that much cushioning at that age? Regardless, we bought an oval bassinet mattress at Babies-R-Us, and it fits perfectly under the other mattress and adds plenty of padding. I plan to check with the manufacturer to make sure adding additional padding is safe. The only drawback to that is you can't use the recline feature, but I didn't consider that to be very important anyway.

One nice thing is that the music and vibration has multiple settings for both volume (or "strength" for the vibration) and timing, so you can adjust it to your baby's preference. Of course, we have no way of knowing what our baby will like, but we wanted the vibration, as we've heard it really helps with sleeping, and the music and nature sounds are an added bonus that can be helpful, too.

The cosleeper feature doesn't seem too helpful, since you have to take a bar off the side under all the ruffles and doesn't seem to attach to the side of the bed, but again, this was not something we were specifically looking for.

Overall, this bassinet is certainly one of the more expensive ones, but if you're planning to use it for other children and you want the features, I believe it's worth it. I gave it four stars because I haven't used it with a real baby yet. :)

I LOVE THIS BASSINET! IT DOES EVERYTHING...VIBRATES,PLAYS MUSIC,HAS A LIGHT SHOW, NIGHT LIGHT, ETC. THE PAD IN IT WASHED UP NICE AFTER MY DAUGHTER HAD AN ACCIDENT.IT IS VERY PRETTY ( WE HAVE HAD LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS ON IT) BUT COULD BE USED FOR BOY OR GIRL. AT FIRST I DIDN'T THINK THAT I NEEDED A BASSINET BUT IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS WE BOUGHT. IT SAVED A LOT OF TRIPS TO THE CRIB CHECKING ON OUR PRETTY LITTLE GIRL ALL NIGHT LONG.

THE ONLY THING WE HAVE NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS BASSINET IS THAT THE VIBRATOR IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP TIGHT AND ADJUST UNDER THE BASSINET.

LOVE IT!!!
I am so glad I received this as a shower gift! It was easy to put together and is very sturdy. The music and sounds are great. I can't imagine using the changing table part, but it is easy to get to! I think it's well worth the money!
