Customer Reviews of Graco ComfortSport Newborn/Toddler Carseat
Has its good points and its bad points. We purchased the Graco ComfortSport before our daughter was born. After extensive research, it seemed like the best seat for the money. We primarily used her infant car seat until she was about 5 months old. Now that we are using the Graco regularly, I've found some flaws that weren't apparent at first. <

>PROS: <
> <
>--Great price. Britax is nice, but at over twice the cost of the ComfortSport, it's a hefty price tag. <
>--Very cushy and comfy padding, which is also easy to remove for washing and for adjusting the strap height. <
>--Installed pretty easily and is pretty easy to transfer back and forth from my Honda Accord to my husband's BMW 3-Series. <

>CONS: <
> <
>--Doesn't have an adjustable recline. When my daughter falls asleep, her poor little head slumps over. This makes me really nervous about her neck possibly being injured. <
>--Shoulder straps are difficult to adjust. Oftentimes, one strap will be loose and the other tight. It takes a lot of time and finagling to get them even. <
>--Padding has a funky sort of chemical smell, even after 9 months of use. <
>--Can be hard to get it installed at the right angle when rear-facing. <
>--Buckles sometimes stick when trying to release them. I usually have to wrestle with them for a while to get them out. <

>Overall, the cons outweigh the pros for us. We're shopping for a second seat, and it won't be another ComfortSport. We are currently debating between the Evenflo Triumph and either the Britax Marathon or Decathlon. I'd suggest researching these seats yourself rather than purchasing the Graco. It's not a terrible seat, but there are definitely better ones available.
Great Seat, But Outgrew It Very Early
We got this seat when our son was about a year old and he loved it. He always fell asleep in it, and seemed very comfortable. Though the straps are uneven (maybe all carseats are that way, or just Gracos? we had the same issue with our SnugRide), they adjust without problems. Our only problem is that he's only 2 1/2, 35 inches tall, 28 pounds, and we just discovered that his shoulders are well above the highest strap slots (very dangerous). We will need to buy another seat, which is disappointing, since we just bought a car with built-in booster seats, thinking that would be his next step. Those aren't usable until he's 33 pounds (do you know how long it takes an active little boy to gain that much weight? ha ha), so it'll be at least 6 months or more until he's ready for those. The manual says this seat is for up to 40 pounds and 40 inches tall, but my son is well below both of those and he's way too tall for it. The other measurement is that his ears shouldn't be above the top of the seat, and it's already getting close. I was shocked, since his measurements are so much lower than the limit of the seat. To all you parents out there, double-check that your child fits in your seat, even if they aren't even close to the height or weight limits. There's nothing more important than their safety!
unsafe
This car seat is so so. I had bought it for my little girl because of the extra cushion and the fact that it was a Graco. Well, I returned it. The straps never seemed to work. I could get one side tight and the other side was really loose. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to work. Don;t buy it.
