Impossible rear-facing We bought two of these for our 9 month-old twin girls and the car seats are going back today. We like quality of Graco products and so when my husband researched car seats and found that this car seat had a great safety rating at a fraction of the cost of the Britax Roundabout, we were thrilled. That didn't last long. Getting the seats installed rear-facing was a huge chore. Then, once they were in, they were extremely frustrating to use. In order to tighten the seats, you have to pull this single strap that's virtually impossible to reach. Once you do reach it, it works by a sort of ratchet system where it releases a little bit at a time. Once it gets remotely tight, but not nearly tight enough to be safe, it's very hard to work. I had to stand in our car and pull with all my strength to get it to tighten and then it made the car seat unsafe because it loosened. This car seat may work well forward facing, but it's a huge hassle rear-facing and just isn't safe.
On top of that, the featured model is black leather and I noticed it really holds the current temperature. That means that since it's been so cold here, the girls' seats have been freezing. I assume that in the summer, they would get very hot as well. Just not comfortable for our girls.
We're bringing these seats back today. I'm very disappointed in Graco.
2 years and still going strong
I bought this for my 2 1/2 yr. old over 2 yrs ago. I used rear facing for 6 mos. then turned him. He still fits great but my 9 mo. old has outgrown the infant seat. So every body gets moved up. I have a Jeep grand cherokee and it has fit perfectly and the LATCH is great I have no complaints I didnt have a problem with loosening the straps because I didnt find it necessary to fiddle with them each time, I adjusted once and didnt change til my son outgrew.
GRACO has been great in our family.. Affordable and durable, We have all Graco products.

The seat fits okay into my mid-size car. One big problem we have is reaching the lever to loosen and tighten the straps, it is actually very hard and quite annoying. We also had to use a rolled up towel to help keep the seat stay in place. It seems comfortable and is reasonably priced. I gave this 4 stars even though it can be inconvenient at times, but overall for the price and comfort I would reccomend this car seat.
