Still mourning the loss of gourmet as it once was.
I first subscribed to Gourmet 30 years ago, and for years was absolutely delighted with the recipes, the articles, the photography, the exotic locations. I still have all my copies, and my children are standing in line to inherit them. the recipes I have used have all been memorable and made over and over again.

It lost its charm and purpose to infuse one with imagination and delight and became a very ordinary publication. Every now and again I dream that things will change, and that Gourmet is again be the wonderful magazine it was, then I buy a copy but am always disappointed.
