The Acadia-b, designed by Maria Egger and Heath Paley, is a handcrafted wind chime made up of an acrylic frame and 20 pieces of glass. The technique used to frost and then polish the frame and the glass is a proprietary 48 hour process developed by Goose Rocks Designs and gives the acrylic and glass a unique luster that complements the clean contemporary design of the chime. The Acadia-b may be hung outdoors as the glass is durable under normal weather conditions. However if extreme weather with high winds is expected, the chime should be moved to a protected area. The line used to string the Acadia-b is made from woven polyethylene and is designed to withstand years of UV exposure. The Acadia-b is shipped in a corrugated box packed in water-soluble biodegradable material made from vegetable starch. A brass cup hook is provided as an aid in hanging the chime. Glass pieces for the Acadia-b are available from Goose Rocks Designs should a replacement be required.
