Few cloth books offer children as many interactive opportunities as the Goodnight Sleeptight Activity Book from Alma's Designs. This 9-by-7.5-inch puffy book has a red cover with a multicolored, embroidered title and a patchwork picture of a bear sleeping in the crook of a crescent moon. A sturdy, royal blue zipper runs around three sides, and two overstuffed blue handles make carrying a breeze. Inside is a 4-inch-tall stuffed bear with an embroidered face and a pink heart with embroidered music notes on his stomach. Press the bear's belly and he plays "Rock-a-Bye Baby." Each of the book's eight pages has various removable accessories that figure prominently in the little bear's bedtime ritual. There's a bib and bottle, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, a comb, terry cloth pajamas (which, unfortunately, don't fit terribly well), a storybook, and a bed to slip the little bear into. Out of the nine assorted cloth books that this reviewer tested, this was by far the most played with--probably because the removable pieces were more conducive to creative play than those attached by ribbons or stitching.
